HOW THE GERBER TEAM MANAGES STRESS
April 6, 2020
Stress is a part of life - sometimes daily life. We know this isn't news to you! During trying and uncertain times, stress can have a profound impact on your health, your mood and y our relationships with others.
We polled our Gerber team members to find out what tactics they use to de-stress. When stress levels get high, you'll find us engaging in one or more of these activities:
Eating
While we don't necessarily recommend doing too much of this, there is nothing quite like comfort food (or beverages!) to get you through the tough moments!
Drinking Chamomile Tea
The healing powers of chamomile tea have been known to reduce stress, anxiety and insomnia.
Exercise
Physical activity produces endorphins that improves sleep and reduces stress. Dust off that treadmill!
Cleaning
Working off nervous energy by giving your surroundings a good scrub might make you feel better, and you'll have a clean home (or car, or office) as a result!
Going for a Long Run or Walk
Lace up those sneakers! The benefits of exercise combined with being outside in the fresh air can help reduce stress.
Baking
Baking is a creative outlet that lets you express yourself. It also makes you concentrate on measurements and following directions instead of whatever is stressing you out!
Playing Video Games
Video games are a break from reality - which is exactly what you might need if you're feeling anxious and need to recharge.
Art
Creating art or being immersed in it is a valuable pastime - even if you think you are a terrible artist or don't understand what you are looking at.
Hanging out with Friends / Family
Good friends and family help you celebrate good times and provide support during the bad times. And they might be just what you need when you're at the end of your rope!
