2018 Recap Blog
As we find ourselves knee-deep in the first quarter of a new year, we like to remind ourselves about the previous year’s accomplishments.
2018 was an innovative year for the Gerber team, filled with growth, expansion, and experimentation. Here’s some of our highlights:
GERBER TEAM kicked off 2018 with our annual offsite company retreat! We spent time in our country’s birthplace of innovation, Philadelphia. Our team dedicated some time to recapping 2017 and goal planning for 2018. It wasn’t all business though, we saved some time for pleasure, including checking off all the historical must-sees in Philly; Independence Hall, The Liberty Bell and the Rocky Steps.
Why invest in an annual retreat? We believe it’s a perfect opportunity to reconnect, focus on the future, and reignite passion for the business.

We also spent some time team building at
Amaze where we successfully problem-solved our way out of an escape room, cheered on the Columbus Blue Jackets, and “sharpening” our axe throwing abilities at Dueling Axes. Kyle was the victorious team member, wowing us all with his superb axe throwing skills!
THE LEADERSHIP TEAM spent three days at an EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) retreat in Phoenix, AZ., working with our EOS implementer learning how to become better leaders and identifying our company rocks for 2019 while taking in some much needed sunshine!
GERBER TEAM welcomed new additions and made some internal transitions. Sally joined the Gerber team in October as our Office Manager. You may recognize her from your latest visit to the Gerber office, greeting you at the door with a friendly smile. Haven’t met Sally yet? Make sure you introduce yourself next time you come in!
Meet Sally.
We also welcomed
Courtney Foley, the newest addition to the Client Services team and
Lori Fellows our Retirement Plan Professional. Check out Courtney and Lori’s bios to learn more about them!
CLIENT SERVICE TEAM grew to three! Tammi, Courtney and Amanda ventured to Washington DC for the annual Raymond James National Conference. Our very own Tammi Beres was nam

ed one of Raymond James' 2018 Outstanding Branch Professionals* at the conference among only two other branch associates. Tammi also passed the Series 9/10 exam to become a designated General Securities Sales Supervisor.
COURTNEY’s son Lucas turned one last October! They celebrated with family and friends, trading traditional gifts in for charitable donations instead; guests were welcomed to donate diapers to the Columbus Diaper Bank, collecting over 800 baby wipes and 1,096 diapers. Happy First Birthday, Lucas!
JOCELYN had
a busy year! She traveled to Miami for Art Basel, spent a weekend in Chicago with her girlfriends, hosted Thanksgiving with family and enjoyed the Christmas holiday in Nashville.
MARIA visitedher family in Montreal over the holidays. While in Canada her family went ice skating, played hockey and saw Cirque du Soleil perform Coreto at the Bell Center, home of the Montreal Canadiens!
gerber team 'wrapped up” our year with our annual Gerber gift-wrapping party. Friends of Gerber were invited to bring their unwrapped gifts to our space to get the wrapping chore done with plenty of bows and ribbons while in good company. Cheers to checking gift wrapping off the holiday checklist! Check out event photos and highlights on our
Facebook page.
ERIK and his family drove down the coast to Delaware and spent time relaxing, burying cousins in the sand, and playing Frisbee and bocce ball on the beach.
The Roemer’s also spent Christmas skiing at Holiday Valley in New York. Erik’s sons never had skied before, but after some skiing “lessons” from their Dad, they skied nearly 12 hours a day for two days! With only a few falls and thankfully no broken bones, the Roemer clan had a great time!
SARAH and herhusband celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on a romantic getaway in Rosemary Beach, Florida! The Backiewicz clan returned to Florida (with the kids this time) for their family vacation.
